FIRST Robotics Competition
The FIRST Robotics Competition simulates engineering in the real world by having students build and program industrial-size robots under strict rules, limited resources, and a six-week time limit, they must raise funds, design a team brand, hone teamwork skills to play a difficult field game against other high school teams in competition. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with a FIRST Championship.
Every year FIRST gives access to millions of dollars in scholarships varying from one-time awards to full four-year tuition from orginizations and colleges who support FIRST.
The RoboSaxons are a group of students grades 9-12 who meet on Thursdays to design and build their robot together within the 6 week limit.
