Coach Keller and his family.

At tonight’s football game, we had the privilege of honoring a longtime member of the Saxon family and a true legend in high school football. Now in his 50th year of coaching, Coach Jeff Keller has been an integral part of shaping the Saxons football program into what it is today.

Coach Keller began his football journey at Alma College, where he played for the Scots from 1970 to 1974. His coaching career took off as the head coach at Troy, where he led his team to a state championship. In 1990, he came to Hastings as head coach, leading the Saxons for over a decade. He later joined the East Grand Rapids coaching staff as an assistant. While following his sons’ college careers, he helped guide the Pioneers to three state championships.

Eventually, Coach Keller returned home to the Saxons, this time serving as our offensive line coach, bringing with him decades of wisdom, leadership and dedication. Thank you, Coach Keller, for your commitment to the Saxons and to the sport of football!
