Students are introduced to a variety of working techniques applicable to the construction industry such as: Carpentry, Measuring and Layout, Electrical, Plumbing, Drywall, and basic construction methods. Students will also be exposed to basic shop/tool safety, construction materials, hand tools, blueprints, and home safety. Counts towards Visual, Performing or Applied Arts requirement. Counts towards one semester of 4th year math requirement if taken during a student's senior year.

Students are introduced to a variety of working techniques applicable to the construction industry such as: General Contracting, Layout, Carpentry, Pole Building Construction, Framing, Roofing, Siding, Electrical, Plumbing and Concrete. Students will be involved in the building of a structure and the installation of electrical and plumbing systems. Students will also be exposed to basic shop/tool safety, construction math, construction materials, power tools, blueprints, stair construction, floor coverings, construction business and estimating. Counts towards Visual, Performing or Applied Arts requirement. Counts towards one semester of 4th year math requirement if taken during a student's senior year.

Construction Trades Advanced students will learn on-site training in the various skills needed in the construction workplace today. The course will involve all aspects of house construction from start to finish. Other areas of study will be Safety, Employability Skills, Construction Materials, Construction Tools and Equipment, Design/Blueprints, Site Preparation, Common Construction Practices, Residential Carpentry, and Construction Business. Construction Trades students will demonstrate a high level of craftsmanship and work ethic. Counts towards Visual, Performing or Applied Arts requirement. Counts towards entire 4th year Math requirement if taken during a student’s senior year.
