SENIOR CAP & GOWN

Hey Seniors,

 

If you have not yet placed your order for your Cap & Gown, the original deadline has passed. However, we have extended the final order date to Friday, October 31st.

 

Please make sure your order is submitted by the deadline to ensure your items arrive in time for graduation.

CLUBS

 

 

BPA

BPA membership dues of $50 are due this Friday, October 31, 2025.  If you are having payment issues, PLEASE see Mr. Carl.

 

If you have not picked up your BPA binder yet, please see Mr. Carl in B108.

 

 

NHS

Attention all current NHS members and the new NHS candidate inductees, we will have induction practice next Monday, Nov. 3rd starting at 3:10 in the PAC. This practice is to prepare everyone for the induction ceremony, which takes place on Wednesday, November 5th. Attendance is mandatory for all new inductees. This should take about 30 minutes. See Mrs. Warner if you have any questions.

 

 

 

 

HAND2HAND PROGRAM

 

Hand2Hand Program

We are offering the Hand2Hand program, which helps provide families food for the weekends.  Parent permission is required to participate.  If you would like to sign-up for Hand2Hand, please click here for the QR code to fill out the form. 

 

 

 

 

STUDENT SERVICES

 

 

College Month Celebration!

Seniors, we will have our second annual College Month Celebration Friday beginning 5th hour in the HPAC! We’ll celebrate your accomplishments, talk about next steps, and hold some raffles! There will be several lucky winners of $50 VISA gift cards, but you must be present to win! We’ll then go to the cafeteria where we’ll enjoy each other and some refreshments until the end of 6th hour. Attendance will be taken. (10/31)

 

 

 

DUAL ENROLLMENT

Students interested in learning more about Dual Enrollment next semester should plan to meet Ms. Peg on Tuesday, November 4, during your lunch period in the Athletic Commons area.  Quickly grab your lunch that day and head down to the Commons. (11/4)  

 

 

Campus Visits:

The counseling department will be taking students to Grand Valley State University on Tuesday November 11th. Students interested in learning more about this college and touring their campus, please sign-up in the counseling department. Grades, behavior and attendance are all considerations for your attendance on this trip. (11/7)

 

 

RepVisits:

A representative from Central Michigan University will be here Monday. Sign up today in Naviance if you are interested in attending. (10/30)

 

 

9th grade SOS Classroom Lesson

SOS:  Hastings High School is utilizing the SOS Signs of Suicide Portal as part of our school wide Suicide prevention efforts.  To preview the information on this free educational site regarding warning signs and risk factors for youth suicide and to learn more about the key message all students will learn: ACT (Acknowledge, Care, Tell), visit the SOS Signs of suicide website. https://mindwise.org/parents/
All 9th Grade students will be experiencing a classroom lesson over very similar material on November 13th in their english classes. If you are interested in talking with Ms. Herbert, the school counselor, about the Signs of Suicide program, please feel free to contact her at 269-945-6154, or

YMCA Turkey Trot

From The YMCA of Barry County:

The Turkey Trot is a 5K race held on Thanksgiving morning. We have a 50% discount code (HASSRUN25) for Hastings Area School students, which will apply to the first 5 registrations. There is also a School Challenge: The school with the highest participation will be awarded a trophy to keep for the following year, which Hastings won last year!

Girls Basketball

Practices/Tryouts begin Wednesday, November 19th in the HS gym.

Bowling

Anyone interested in Bowling this winter, there will be a Bowling meeting on Friday Nov. 7th at 3pm.

 

 

Competitive Cheer

Tryouts for Competitive Cheer will be November 10-12  4:30-6:30  at Central Gym

 

 

Boys Swim and Dive

There is a sign up sheet in the athletics office for boys interested in swim and dive.
