MANDATORY SENIOR MEETING
The last required Senior Meeting is Tuesday, May 12, at 2:00 PM in the HPAC. We will be reviewing final details for graduation, including due bills, and distributing honors cords. This meeting is for senior students only (and includes both virtual and in-person seniors). We look forward to seeing you there! (5/12)
SENIOR INFORMATION
CAPS FOR DECISION DAY
Caps for Decision Day are now available for purchase! If you would like to decorate your cap for Decision Day to highlight your future plans, they are available for purchase from Mrs. Maurer! This is completely optional and is not a requirement.
Please note that decorated caps are permitted for Decision Day only. Plain caps must be worn during Graduation to participate in the ceremony.
Caps are $10 each and will be sold until May 7th. There is a limited number of caps available, if this is something you would like to do, be sure to purchase yours early to secure one! (5/7)
Senior Luncheons
Rotary
Seniors! This is your reminder that if you RSVP’d for the Rotary Luncheon, today is the day! Seniors will depart from the school at 11:40 to the Walldorf and return about 1:10. Students are not permitted to drive themselves.
Senior Girls Tea
Seniors! This is your reminder that if you RSVP’d for the Senior Girls Tea, that is this Wednesday! The registration table opens at 11:15 AM and the event begins at 11:45 AM. Students will return to the school about 1:15 and should plan to ride with their guests to the luncheon. The luncheon will take place at the Hastings Baptist Church, located at 309 E Woodlawn Ave, Hastings, MI 49058.
PROM
Prom tickets will go on sale Wednesday April 22! Tickets are $35 each. You may purchase tickets at lunch in the cafeteria or at other times in the day from Mrs. Newbery in Room B123. Please bring cash or checks made out to "Hastings High School"
If you are bringing a non-HHS student, you must complete a guest form and return before May 1. Guests must be under 20 years old and at least in ninth grade. Be prepared that your guest form must be filled out by other schools and will take a few days to process!

AP TESTING
- AP Testing is May 4-15. Please make sure you arrive 15 minutes early in the Aux Gym Lobby for your test. Be sure to check your student email for more details. (5/15)
LINK LEADER APPLICATIONS
- Attention 10th and 11th graders! Think about the kind of school you want to be part of. Your school becomes what you make it. Link Crew Leader applications are now open! Check your school email for the Link Crew Leader Application google form. Applications are due by Friday, May1, if you would like to be considered. We will notify you by email if you are invited to our fun May Day which will be Tuesday, May 19, from 1:00-3:00pm. If you have any questions please reach out to Ms. Herbert or Mrs. Coltson. (5/1)

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS
- The Hasting Athletic Boosters Scholarship is open to student-athletes who have participated in at least one sport all four years of high school, and maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout high school. CHOIR
Choir Trip to Disney
The Choirs are going to Disney World! The trip sign ups begin Friday April 24th, and this trip is not to be missed! Three days in the parks, a live performance experience at Disney Springs, and a recording studio experience with Disney music professionals. It's going to be awesome. Two things: you need to be in choir next year, and you can get all the info you need from Mr. Moore. Just stop by the choir room! Don't miss the Disney World Trip 2027! (5/1)

Boys Basketball
If you’re a Hastings student planning to play basketball next year, we’re opening up the gym.
Starting Sunday, May 3rd, we’ll have open gym every Sunday from 5:00–7:00 PM at the high school.
This is for incoming 9th–12th graders for next school year. Hastings students only.
No pressure, just a chance to get shots up, play pick-up, and compete. Bring a friend, bring energy, and be ready to play. Contact Coach Webb with questions. (5/1)
RESULTS from coaches
JV Softball
JV Softball swept a DH against Plainwell last night. In game one the Saxons won 16-1. Autumn Mayack led the offense with 3 hits and 4 RBI. Taylor Aspinall, Rylee Raison, Morgan Casselman, Ella SanInocencio, and Lily McFarlan also collected hits for the Saxons. SanInocencio and McFarlan combined for 11 strikeouts in the circle.
In game 2 the Saxon offense got off to a slow start but found a way to come up with timely hits and won the game 8-1. Mayack again led the offense with a 2 run inside-the-park HR to give the Saxons the lead. SanInocencio came up big with a pinch hit 2 run double to extend the lead. Elsie Haight and Abby Frazer also had a base hit. SanInocencio and McFarlan gave up 2 hits and struck out 5 to shut down the Plainwell bats. The JV team is currently 5-0 and heads to Mona Shores on Saturday for a 3 game tournament.
GIrls Track & Field
The Saxons ran at Mason's Bulldog Invite last Friday, taking 4th out of 13 teams. Bella Friddle took 1st in long jump and 2nd in the 200m, hitting the early qualifying state standard for long jump. Caroline Randall took 1st in the 3200m and 1600m. Olivia Friddle took 1st in shot put and discus, and 3rd in pole vault. Emerson Leary took 3rd in high jump. Naomi Cook took 5th in 300m hurdles. Riley Furrow took 8th in the 200m. London Hammond took 8th in long jump. The 4x800m relay of Maddie Elzinga, Chloe Pirtle, Zikarra Warner, and Haley Williamson took 8th.
The Saxons compete next at home against Pennfield. Come out and cheer them on!
Varsity Golf
Hastings Varsity Boys Golf finished tied for 15th at the Tom Collins Memorial at Bedford Valley with a team score of 347 in a highly competitive field. Daniel Jensen led the Saxons with a 78, earning a top-10 finish, followed by Daylen Sybesma (87), Andrew Barton (89), Bronson Elliott (93), and Cayden Cappon (99).
JV Golf
The Saxons JV Golf team traveled to Binder Park Golf Course last Friday where they participated in a 16 team invitational. Coach Erb is proud to announce that the Team of Danny Jiles, Owen Elliott, Otto Mantz and Cooper Hokanson battled hard and played smart golf and took 2nd place.
Danny Jiles - lead the way for the Saxons with 8 pars and 2 birdies and a score of 78 and placed 3rd overall
Owen Elliott - had 8 pars and a score of 84 and placed 6th overall
Otto Mantz - had 5 pars and a score of 86 and placed 9th overall
and Cooper Hokanson had 5 pars and was thrilled he placed in the top 20.
The boys celebrated by getting Taco Bell after the match.
This week they will be at home on Thursday for their Saxon Invite!
