Hastings Band Barn

More enhancements are on the way for Hastings High School’s band facilities, courtesy of the Hastings Band Boosters.

At last night’s regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting, school board members approved a two-part improvement project focused on the areas surrounding the high school’s band room, band barn, and practice field.

One phase of the project will involve widening the drive leading to the band room. This will create additional space near the loading door, improving access and streamlining logistics for equipment transport and vehicle loading.

The second phase includes upgrades around the band barn—constructed last spring by students in the Hastings High School Career Technical Education program. Planned improvements include paving the corner near the barn’s main entrance, the drive to the smaller garage door, walking path, and a 15-by-60-foot front ensemble area.

Crews will also pave the practice field drive.

The Hastings Band Boosters are funding the entire project. Both the school board and Superintendent Dr. Nick Damico publicly thanked the organization during the meeting for their continued support.

Work is expected to begin in the near future.
