The high school's trades block students have been hard at work! While juggling a few projects, their main focus is constructing a barn for a local family from the ground up.

Every year, these students take on a major build like this, managing the entire process from start to finish. It’s an invaluable, hands-on opportunity that equips them with skills and sets them up for success if they pursue a career in the trades. We're looking forward to watching the progress!

Big news for the City of Hastings! Today marked the ribbon-cutting for the Riverwalk Lofts and Mill Street Market in downtown Hastings.

While the Lofts bring new neighbors to our community, the Mill Street Market is bringing opportunities for our students! Scheduled to be all done this January, the market features a commercial kitchen that will become the new home away from home for our culinary arts program, expanding on the great foundation built at the Barry Community Foundation.

Our culinary arts teacher, Mr. Straube, said the space could hopefully be able to create additional space to facilitate larger classes. We can't wait to see the finished project!

Last week, the high school’s Ag Business classes had the opportunity to meet and learn about what it takes to be a K9 officer! Students gained valuable insight into how K9 dogs are trained and how they put their skills to work every day to help keep our communities safe.

A huge shout-out to Barry County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Moore (a Hastings grad!) and K9 Jesse for taking the time to visit with us and share their knowledge and experience! We appreciate all you do for our community!

Hastings earned a Division 1 rating at District 10 MSBOA Marching Band Festival last night in Caledonia! This marks 67 years of the program receiving Division 1 ratings at marching band festival!

Hastings High School Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place Wednesday, October 14, in the main gym, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Grade progress reports will also be available for pickup, as well as testing scores for current 9th and 12th graders. We look forward to seeing you there!

Tomorrow is Count Day for public schools around Michigan, including right here in Hastings!

The cross country teams traveled to Otsego on Saturday for the Bulldog Invitational, highlighted by a milestone performance on the girls' side.

Caroline Randall finished 2nd overall, breaking her own school record from last year with a time of 17:30.5.

She was joined in the varsity race by teammates Lenna Wendt, Eva Elzinga, Emerson Leary, Charlotte Bagley, Chloe Pirtle, and Riley Furrow.

The boys' team was led by Jackson McKinney, Jackson Storrs, Parker Erb, Tanner Krzysik, Alex Timmers, Julian Kretz, and Dakota Cole.

Congratulations to Caroline on the record and to both teams on a strong showing at Otsego.

Another Homecoming in the books, and what a fun week it’s been! Tonight's parade and victory at Baum Stadium was the perfect way to cap it off. It was so much fun seeing so many familiar faces. We hope our students had as much fun celebrating as we did! It's a great day to be a Saxon!

All Hastings High School parents and guardians are invited to our Parent Advisory Meeting on Monday, Sept. 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the HHS Media Center!

It was a defensive stalemate on the gridiron tonight, but the seniors came out on top at the annual Homecoming Powderpuff game! 🏈

Bella Friddle led the charge with two touchdowns to secure the win. Great job to all the ladies for putting on an awesome show!

Tonight, the girls take over Baum Stadium for our annual Powderpuff Football game.

Juniors and seniors will be facing off under the lights for ultimate bragging rights. Game begins at 7 p.m. Pack the stands, wear your school colors, and be loud.

Joined by hundreds of volunteers across the county, our crew headed to the Hastings Public Library to tackle general cleaning and maintenance, inside and out. We are so proud of these students for rolling up their sleeves and showing what community pride is all about! 💙
