Homecoming Announcements
FLOAT AND CLASS INFORMATION
If you want to be part of your high school experience check out the information on your grades Homecoming website. Posters in your hallway have QR codes that link to your class website with more information. See the schedule for float building and hallway decorating days and times. (10/13)
DANCE TICKET SALES
Dance tickets will be for sale at all 3 lunches from October 2-13. Tickets are $15 each. Guest forms need to be submitted for any outside guests prior to Thursday, October 12 to the main office. Guests must be in high school or 20 years of age and under. If you need any help with financial aid for dance tickets, please see Mrs. Erb in the main office. (10/13)

COLLEGE REP VISITS
- Kendall College of Art and Design will have a representative here on Friday, October 5th, at 10:10 AM. Students interested in attending need to sign up through their Naviance account by Thursday, October 4th. (10/4)
BARRY COUNTY COLLEGE FAIR
- Attention ALL students! The Barry County College Fair will take place on October 17th from 6:00-7:30 PM in the Main Gym. This is a great opportunity to kick-start your post-secondary planning! We will have around 50 college and military representatives in attendance, so be on the lookout for the final list of participants! If you have any questions, please see Ms. Tolles. (10/16)
College Month Raffle
- Attention Seniors, it's Michigan College Month, which means it’s time to get going on those post-secondary plans! For the entire month of October there will be a raffle for gift card prizes. To get entries into this raffle you need to apply to college or a job, have a meeting with Ms. Tolles, come to a college app workshop, attend a rep visit and more! Check out the flyers posted around the school. You can get entered multiple times! If you have any questions, please see Ms. Tolles. (10/13)
College App Workshops
- Are you struggling to fill out your college applications? Or do you need some time to work on your post-secondary planning? If you answered yes, stop down to the old library during connections on Wednesdays for the month of October to join Ms. Tolles and Mrs. Heaton for their College Application Workshops. Here you will have a chance to ask questions, work on applications and common app, college essays, and recommendations. etc! Snacks will be provided to those who attend! (10/13)
Campus Visits
- The counseling department is taking a trip to Aquinas College, a small private school in Grand Rapids, on Thursday October 26th. Students interested in learning more and taking a tour of this campus should sign-up in the old library. Be sure to take a permission slip. (10/24)
Clubs
BPA
BPA is having an informational meeting Wednesday Oct. 4th during connections for any interested students wanting to try their hand at business related competitions. Competitive Events range from individual tests, Business presentations, group presentation, prepared speech, Network Design, Computer programming, and video production team just to name a few of the 80 plus different events. Stop by Mr. Carl or Mr. Erb's room to pick up a list of the events or just come to the meeting Wednesday October 4th during connections. (10/4)

The next meeting of the HHS GSA Club will be on Thursday, October 5, from 3 - 4 PM in Ms. Putnam's room B205. All are welcome and we are looking forward to seeing you there. Bring a friend! (10/5)

Attention HHS FRESHMEN and SOPHOMORES:

-The Athletic Booster Sub Sale pick-up will be on Thursday, October 5, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the High School cafeteria. If you are unable to pick up your subs during this time please make arrangements to have someone pick them up for you. (10/5)
TENNIS
The Boys Tennis Team traveled to the I-8 Conference Tournament on Monday. It was a beautiful day of tennis that saw a fourth place victory from Ivan Rojo Hernandez at Second Singles. Ivan dropped the first set against Harper Creek and then bounced back to win 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the opening round. First Doubles team of Lang Haines and Keegan Lindsey took 5th place, losing a tough first match and bouncing back to win the next two. Second Doubles lost a close match to Marshall to take 7th, and Third Doubles lost a close match to Pennfield for 7th as well. Caleb Borton, at Third Singles, had an epic first match against Jackson Northwest but could not quite finish the second set and force a third. And First Singles player Heath Hays lost a close match to Marshall. It was a great day of tennis as all flights played well against some tough teams.
SOCCER
The Varsity Soccer team traveled to Pennfield on Tuesday and sealed a victory. The Saxons came ready to play, and found the net in the first three minutes of the game. Headed into the second half tied up 3-3, the Saxons shut down Pennfields offense and walked away with a 5-3 win. Scoring for the Saxons were Serg Arias, Eastin Tibble, and Troy Hokanson who earned his second hat trick of the season. In goal, Dan Jenson and Brennen Armstrong had a combined total of 15 saves
SWIM
Congratulations to the members of the Delton Kellogg - Hastings Girls' Swimming and Diving Team for their fine performances despite a loss (105 - 73) to the team from Harper Creek High School.
Taking first places for the DK - Hastings Team were Morgan Cross, Petra Foster, Saga Jones, Maelea Martin, Bella Morey, and Amelia Price.....and several other team members took second places.
The next meet for the girls will be against the co-op team from Battle Creek Central- Pennfield at 6:00 PM, on Thursday evening, October 5, at the Hastings Community Education and Recreation Center.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Cross Country teams from Hastings participated in the second I-8 jamboree at Parma Western yesterday. The girls finished 5th while the boys moved up a place to finish 3rd. The girls were led by champion Caroline Randall. Other top runners for the girls were Chloe Pirtle, Alexa DeCamp, Beatrice Creaco, Lily Enyart, Alexia Owen and Anika Bourassa. Leading the way for the Saxon boys were Riley Shults, Brandon Simmons, Micah Johnson, Jonah Teed, Caleb LaBoe, Maxson Eichorst, and Reuben Solmes. Setting Prs were: Chloe Pirtle and Maxson Eichorst. Completing his first 5K was Austin Abson. The next meet will be Saturday when the Saxsons travel to Portage to participate in the nearly 300 team Portage Invitational.
