Parents, please try to plan accordingly with any outside appointments so your student does not miss their test on these days. Thank you!


Please be reminded that all Juniors are required by the Michigan Department of Education to complete all three tests as a graduation requirement - SAT, Workkeys, and MSTEP.

Blood Drive

 

The Interact club is hosting a blood drive Tuesday, April 23, from 8:00am-2:00p. If you would like to donate please sign up online https://donate.michigan.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/152992 or look for a sign up table at lunch. If you are 16, please pick up a consent form in the office. (4/22)

 

 

 

Senior Academy Awards

The 19th Annual Senior Academy Awards will be on Sunday, April 28, in the HPAC, at 5 pm. The yearbook staff is looking for HHS students to help during the show with the award presentations. Please see Mrs. KIngma by Wednesday this week if you are interested in helping with this fun event. 

 

Tickets will be available at lunches soon. Cost is $8.00 in advance; $10 at the door. (4/26)

 

 

 

 

Senior Party

 

Seniors!! Get your Senior Party ticket Fridays at lunch. Parents will be selling tickets every Friday through May 10th. They will be $50 through April and $60 in May so get yours ASAP! Tickets are also available in the office if you're unable to attend lunch. You won’t want to miss this final night with your fellow classmates, especially since we are doing something never done before! If you need financial assistance with purchasing a ticket or would like to check if you’ve earned enough volunteer hours to cover your ticket,  please stop at the table to chat during ticket sales or email [email protected].

FAFSA

- Seniors, this week is National FAFSA Week of Action! Filing your FAFSA opens you up to federal and state financial aid for your post-secondary plans! File at fafsa.gov.  Remember, you can earn a $50 visa gift card if you fully submit the form! Please reach out to Mrs. Heaton or Ms. Tolles if you have any questions. (4/19)

LINK CREW

Sophomores and Juniors!

We are looking for our new link crew leaders for next year! This program is designed to increase school culture by connecting incoming Freshman with upperclassmen mentors. We are in the beginning stages of recruiting Link Crew Leaders who will be 11th or 12th graders next year. We are looking for students who represent all the incoming freshmen. We need students who are kind and welcoming. We will be training these students on how to be a leader. If you are interested in being in the program please check your email for the application but will also have paper copies in the Counseling Department. All applications are due by the end of the day Friday, May 3rd. If you have questions please reach out to Ms. Herbert or Mrs. Coltson. (5/3)

 

 

STUDENT COUNCIL

If you are looking for an opportunity to be a more active part of your high school experience consider applying for Student Council. Student Council applications will be accepted until May 3, with the elections to follow. The Google form application was emailed to you by Mrs. Kramer. (5/3)

FUNDRAISER

Spring sport athletes in conjunction with the Hastings Athletic Boosters are now holding their delicious sub sandwich, soup, and dessert sale!!  Sale date runs now through Monday, April 22, and orders with payment will be accepted until 4:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23rd.  Please mark Thursday, May 16, on your calendar for order pick-up from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, in the High School Cafeteria. BASEBALL

In game #1 the Varsity Baseball team lost 4-0 to Fremont, allowing single runs in for different innings.  Game #2 the Saxons lost 3-2, with the tying run on 2nd base.  Leading hitters were Eastin Tibble with three hits, Colten Denton with two hits, and Mason Bailey with a hit.  Along with some solid defense Catcher, Tyler Frazer threw out two base runners.

 

 

TENNIS

The Lady Saxon Tennis team played host to Coldwater last night and clipped the Cardinals wings, beating them by a score of 5-3.  Abby Beemer kept her unbeaten streak intact winning by a score of 6-2,6-2.  3rd singles German sensation Kaja Paulsen won a 3 set match 6-2,3-6,6-0.  Beatrice "The Italian Job" Creaco won her 1st US tennis match 6-4,6-1.  At 2nd doubles, the dynamic duo of Alyssa Morton and Lilly "salt-n-'" Pepper pushed through their opponents 6-3, 7-6 and the 4th doubles team of the sister's Gee crushed their Cardinal foe 6-0,6-2..  2nd singles Mj Deal fell in a close match losing in tie breakers, but played her best tennis of the year.  The Saxons improve to 2-1 on the year and head Southwest tomorrow morning for the Paw Paw Invite. 

 

 

SOFTBALL

JV Softball swept their 3rd straight Double Header on Thursday defeating Plainwell 9-4 and 15-3. Meredith Ansorge and Annemarie Allerding picked up wins in the circle. Sophia Greenfield, Laken Hollars, Lyla Hess, Marlayna Young, Nella Coipel, Ansorge and Allerding all collected hits for the Saxons!
