Culinary Arts
The Culinary Arts program incorporates the National Restaurant Association's "ProStart www.nraef.org/prostart/ curriculum. Students will explore potential career paths in the food service industry, with emphasis on technical skills, customer relations, restaurant organization, and the ServSafe® sanitation program. Students will study cooking principles, sanitation, travel, tourism, restaurant management, culinary skills, problem solving, creative thinking, and working as an individual or as part of a team. Students will complete career exploration and study projects in the hospitality industry, which includes lodging, travel, and tourism. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a nationally recognized ServSafe and ProStart certificate. Offsite course. This program is articulated with KVCC and provides college credit upon successful completion.
