Digital/Multimedia Design I
This class is for students who want to learn the basics of web technology while working towards professional Web Design Certification. It is a “hand-on” class and much of the work is completed independently. Students will learn web-mastering foundations including a general understanding of computers, how the internet works, the web design process, how to acquire web hosting and publish to it, and other concepts that any web designer should be familiar with. Students will also learn GIMP - graphics software for such tasks as graphics design, photo retouching, and image authoring. Following that, students will learn basic HTML (web page structure coding) and CSS (web page defined layout) including HTML structure; lists; page layout; styling text; links and site structure. In addition, students will have the opportunity to showcase their accomplishments by participating in BPA (Business Professionals of America) Competitions.
Digital/Multimedia Design II
In this course, students will focus on advanced HTML & CSS web technology while working towards professional Web Design Certification. It is a “hands-on” class and much of the work is completed independently. Students will learn advanced HTML and CSS design, including working with images; margins and borders; and creating basic tables. Students will continue with CSS Classes and ID’s; color design, element positioning; merging table cells, styling navigation bars, embedding media; transforming elements and filter effects. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their accomplishments by participating in BPA (Business Professionals of America) Competitions.
Digital/Multimedia Design III
In this course, students will learn how to make websites interactive and conclude their training for professional Web Design Certification. Lessons in JavaScript focus on general programming concepts, yet keeping the design emphasis. Students will learn to use JavaScript as a tool for creating attractive and efficiently designed web sites. Students will also be introduced to web design concepts using PHP, including form processing, user management, and expand on the concepts of dynamic and database driven web sites. Students will have the opportunity to showcase your accomplishments by participating in BPA (Business Professionals of America) Competitions.
Digital/Multimedia Design Q (Advanced and Personalized)
This CTE “Q” course is a continuation of the Digital/Multimedia Design series and is designed for students who are serious about a career in Digital/Multimedia and Information Resources Design. The advanced and personalized curriculum with available certification(s) will be determined based on student interest and specialization within the Digital/Multimedia program, as the core curriculum has been completed. Areas of concentration may include, but are not limited to, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, 3D Digital Design, Animation and Game Design. It is a “hands-on” class and much of the work is completed independently. You will have the opportunity to showcase your accomplishments by participating in BPA (Business Professionals of America) Competitions.
